Hi, I am Erin Jade. Owner of Double J Stock Dogs.
A little about me so you can get to know me better. Growing up on a ranch I've had Heelers my entire life. I am a woman working in ag. I am also a professional K9, family and wedding photographer.
I will tell you right now. You are either a Heeler person, or you're not. It's very black and white, and no grey area. Once you fall in love with one, you'll never be able to be without one.
We raise our dogs first and foremost for health and temperament. That is of utmost importance. We don't keep dogs around with poor temperaments and certainly don't breed them. We love a good dog that will work cows for our clients, but at the end of the day we need want to raise pups that have pleasant temperaments and are safe and happy to be around kids as well. Having an off switch is KEY to having a great Heeler and this is something we focus on with our genetics . All of our dogs come from strong working lines. Our lines include our own here at Double J Stock Dogs as well as some of the nicest heelers we have brought in from across the country over the years.
Due to the fact our dogs all come from strong working lines, at this time we are declining sales to pet only homes with certain exceptions to experienced Heeler homes only. Strong consideration to agility and sporting homes will be given with proof of active involvement in sports. We are here in the best interest of our pups and this is what we feel is best.
We have Heeler Pups all across Canada from just outside Dawson City, Yukon all the way to Nova Scotia and everywhere in between. We are located in Alberta on a farm just north east of Edmonton. There is plenty of transport options available for puppies going out of province with either professional ground transport or via West Jet.
Our pups are ready to leave at 8 weeks of age. They come vet checked with first puppy vaccines. We also deworm at 2,4,6,8 weeks of age. They also come with 30 days Pet Insurance through Trupanion.
We have a rehoming policy in place that in the event that you are unable to keep or care for your heeler that we will always have an open door policy and that the pups are always welcome to come home and/or we will be actively involved in the rehoming process to find a suitable home. This is something all responsible breeders should do.
We continue to support our puppy buyers after the purchase of the pup with an open line of communication.
Our pups are well socialized to kids, cats, other dogs and all the sights and sounds of the farm. They are exposed to small livestock as well before going home.
We raise our pups both indoors and outdoors weather permitting so that they learn to be underfoot but learn outdoor life as well.
We no longer allow in person puppy visits as with the current Upper Respiratory Virus going around we are protecting both our adult dogs and puppies by limiting visitation at this time. We practice strict bio security to keep our dogs and puppies as safe and healthy as possible. We do facilitate both video chat and phone calls when it comes to looking at puppies in a litter.
References across Canada are always available for prospective buyers to chat with as well.
We try to keep people updated with photos of their pups and to stay in contact throughout the very tedious wait of waiting for your new puppy to come home. We send photo updates out about every two weeks. With texts and calls pertaining to updates on your puppy, I answer those only within bankers hours Monday -Thursday. Emergencies of course would be 24/7. I do ask that people respect my evenings and weekends with my family unless it is an emergency.
Now, down to the nitty gritty. How much do our beautiful puppies cost? Currently they are $1250.00. They will be rising in the next upcoming months due to rising operating costs with vet bills and dog food sky rocketing. It is a 50 percent non refundable first payment to secure your pup and hold them. The balance is due by 7 weeks of age. I send both an invoice and receipt for both payments. Good news for those of you on a budget... We do offer payment plans on upcoming litters as well as brand new babies. We try to facilitate and work with customers the best we can to help your dream of your perfect puppy come true. We will be accepting credit card payments by in the upcoming months. Currently Etransfer and Cash is the only option for payment at this time. We do not accept cheques. Full payment must be rendered before leaving the property with your puppy.
If you wish to see the albums of our beautiful puppies please click on the "Puppies" link and you can see photos of current available pups, past litters, and planned future litters. We do allow people to reseve picks 1,2,3 male or female on upcoming litters with a 50 percent deposit.
Welcome to our website and please enjoy looking at all the photos and we would love to welcome you to the Double J Family and become friends for life as we love to stay in touch with everyone. We are raising the future generations of working Heelers with LOVE.
